Keep the SkimGuard SOS card clearly visible in your wallet or an ID sleeve. For the best possible SkimGuard shielding effect, place it as close as possible to the bank or credit cards you wish to protect.

The passive shielding card can make unwanted contactless reading more difficult. Actual performance depends on the card position, number and arrangement of cards and the reader being used; it therefore does not guarantee protection against every reading attempt.

Cleaning and care

Protect the QR code and card surface from scratches, bending and heavy abrasion. If necessary, clean the card with a soft, slightly damp cloth.

Do not bend, cut or wash the card in a washing machine.

Replacement card after loss or damage

How does the SkimGuard SOS card work?

The card combines two functions. Its passive protective material can make unwanted contactless reading of nearby bank and credit cards more difficult. It requires neither a battery nor activation.

The individual QR code also opens your personal DynaTag SOS WebApp. Approved emergency contacts, health information and important instructions can be viewed directly in a browser.

Does SkimGuard guarantee complete protection against contactless reading?

No. SkimGuard is a passive shielding aid and does not guarantee protection against every form of contactless reading or every unauthorised transaction.

Actual performance depends on factors such as the position, number and arrangement of cards and the reader being used. You should therefore continue to check your card statements regularly.

How should I position the SkimGuard card?

Place the card in your wallet, card holder or handbag as close as possible to the bank and credit cards you wish to protect.

When several payment cards are carried together, their arrangement can affect the shielding effect. Keep the QR code visible and legible.

Does the card need charging or batteries?

No. The SkimGuard SOS card works without a rechargeable battery, disposable batteries or an electronic power supply and does not need to be charged.

The smartphone used to open the digital SOS page does, however, require an active internet connection.

What information can be displayed through the QR code?

You decide which details are publicly visible after scanning. Depending on your configuration, these may include:

  • Emergency contacts with telephone numbers
  • Personal details and a profile photo
  • Allergies, medication and health information
  • Important instructions for first responders or emergency services
  • A digital pinboard for photos and messages
Can I update or delete my information myself?

Yes. In your personal user account, you can update, add or delete contacts, health information, photos and instructions at any time.

You can manage the information using a smartphone, tablet or computer. The QR code on the card remains unchanged.

Is the SkimGuard SOS card a GPS tracker?

No. The card has no GPS and does not continuously collect or transmit a location.

Only the person scanning the QR code can voluntarily share their own current location. They must actively select the function and give their explicit consent.

Are there ongoing costs or a subscription?

No. The purchase price includes 5 years of use of the DynaTag platform. There are no monthly fees and no mandatory subscription.

After the included period ends, access can be extended if required for a one-time renewal fee.

What happens if the card is lost or damaged?

Your emergency information is not stored on the card. It remains available on the Swiss DynaTag platform.

If the card is lost or damaged, or if the QR code becomes unreadable, you can request a replacement card with the same QR code. Your existing SOS page and stored information can continue to be used.
